MAX George has been hit with another setback as he recovers from his emergency heart surgery. The Wanted singer has had girlfriend and former EastEnders actress Maisie Smith glued to his side throughout his stint in hospital and heading home to Manchester.

However the couple will be forced to separate as Maisie has to be in Canterbury for her pantomime commitment, which still has a couple more weeks left meaning she can't be by Max's side. A source exclusively told us: "Max's mum decided to move in with him for a bit to make sure he is OK and look after him.

"It's been a really difficult time, and it's just unfortunate that Maisie still has work commitments.". The comment comes as he returned home earlier this week following his emergency surgery. Max - who went sober four years ago amid previous liver problems - saw his heart rate dramatically drop last month.

The condition was diagnosed as a 2:1 block - and with no improvement after a week he was given an emergency operation to have a pacemaker fitted. Following medics diagnosing the block, Max underwent an emergency operation to have a pacemaker fitted. Giving fans an update on his condition, he took to social media as he shared that he's been feeling a "flicking" in his chest since going under the knife for emergency surgery.

Speaking in a video, Max said in a new video: "I'm in the hospital for another check up because I've been getting this 'flicking' feeling in the left-hand side of my chest.". Reaching out for advice from those who also have a pacemaker, Max said: "The doctors aren't too sure [why this happening].
