Max George shares insight into gruelling recovery after shock heart surgery ordeal

Max George has given fans a glimpse of his rehab routine after undergoing shock heart surgery. The Wanted star, 36, spent weeks in hospital just before Christmas after doctors discovered an irregularity with his heart. He had a pacemaker fitted and after the successful surgery, he was finally able to return home. Max was nursed by his actress girlfriend Maisie, 23, as she stuck by his side throughout the ordeal.
Taking to Instagram yesterday, Max posted a photo of himself walking slowly on a treadmill before panning the camera to his face and giving fans a reassuring thumbs up. He was shirtless in the short clip and wearing a large pair of headphones, but appeared positive as he attempted to get his fitness levels up to pre-surgery levels.
However, Max will soon suffer a setback as Maisie has to continue her work commitments. The former EastEnders star is working in a pantomime in Canterbury, which still has a few more weeks left. It means she will have to part from Max's side for a while. "Max's mum decided to move in with him for a bit to make sure he is OK and look after him," a source recently told the Sun.
"It's been a really difficult time, and it's just unfortunate that Maisie still has work commitments." As 2024 came to an end, Max posted a series of photos from the year that included him performing on stage, his surgery scar, cuddles with girlfriend Maisie and a snap from his hospital bed.
Alongside the images, Max emotionally shared: "2024.. Certainly a year I won’t forget! So lucky to have the life that I have. I can’t wait for the next chapter, no matter what challenges lie ahead. I wish everyone an amazing night tonight.. and that 2025 brings you good health and the best year!".
