THIS is the moment brave cops rush to the scene of the terror attack in New Orleans after the suspect killed ten in a rampage. Footage shows a group of nine officers standing on a corner in the French Quarter suddenly turn and run towards the danger. One of the officers looks at his phone just before they sprint off - which appears to be the moment they receive news of the attack.
The crowd mingling around the area don't react other than to look in the direction where the cops are running to. Nearby, New Orleans' famed Bourbon Street became a bloodbath following a deadly attack the FBI is investigating as an "act of terrorism". A gunman ploughed his white vehicle into crowds celebrating the New Year before opening fire on cops and innocent revellers.
The perpetrator "intentionally" drove his pick-up truck down Bourbon Street "at a very fast pace" and was "trying to run over as many people as he possibly could", cops said. He was then gunned down by cops and killed. Tragically, 10 people have been confirmed dead and at least a further 35 have been injured.
The FBI has recovered suspected bombs from the scene which they are investigating to see whether they are viable. Officials are investigating the white pick-up truck the attacker used, as well as a long-gun rifle recovered from the scene, NBC reports. Authorities are also investigating whether there is a foreign link to the attack.
