The 36-year-old donned the No 11 shirt for his side, named after his pub - the Black Forge Inn - and lined up at left wing. Black Forge FC lie second in one of Irish football's many amateur league tables, having won four of their seven games so far this season.

McGregor shockingly lashed out at one of his opponents during the game after losing possession. The Irishman took a heavy touch after attempting to control a loose ball and was subsequently dispossessed. He then followed up by wrapping his arms around his opponent, standing behind him, and eventually wrestling him until he lost balance.

Before the innocent player dropped to the ground, McGregor stuck his leg out at the height of his opponent's knee, guaranteeing his fall, before the UFC star landed with his body draped over him.

Outside of his antics on the field, McGregor's interest in the world of football has grown online in the last week, with the former lightweight champion recently revealing that he would like to own a team. He said that wants to buy two football clubs - after billionaire tycoon Elon Musk was sensationally linked with Liverpool.
