This is the moment a drunk driver collapsed to the floor in the middle of a busy motorway. The woman, who was found to be nearly six times the drink drive limit, was so inebriated she was unable to walk to officers without falling over. She was discovered by police as they attended to a collision on the M1 just before 2pm on Thursday.
Officers opened the door of her car, which had stopped in the middle of an active lane of traffic, when they found her unable to walk and she fell to the floor as they pulled her out of the driving seat. She was eventually helped to the safety of a police vehicle, where she blew 191 on the breathalyser - well over the limit of 35.
A clip of the incident shows an officer telling the woman, in her 30s: 'We're in the middle of a motorway, pet.'. She is then seen collapsing on the road, before the officer radioes to his colleague for help. Once she's in the police car, he says to her: 'It's a road traffic incident, and I think you may have had a drink. I'm going to ask you to provide me with a sample of breath.'.

The woman fell to the floor as soon as she was pulled out of the driving seat and was later arrested and charged with dangerous driving.
