A tourist found unconscious in the street suddenly started attacking doctors and nurses in a hospital when he woke up, as he wrestled one man to the ground. The holidaymaker was found on a street in Bangkok, Thailand, and taken to Sirindhorn Hospital. However when he woke up, far from feeling grateful, he lashed out at the medical professionals tending to him.

Horror CCTV footage shows him attacking two medical workers before punching a woman to the floor. He then threw a flurry of punches at a doctor who fell against a stretcher, in which sat a sick little child. When a nurse attempted to restrain the suspect, he threw her to the ground by her hair. The doctor and a security guard then wrestled the man to the ground. The suspect was then sedated before being taken to the Udom Suk Police Station.

Police chief Colonel Somsak Iamsuk said the man has so far refused to cooperate with officers and his name and nationality remain unknown. The police are coordinating with the Immigration Bureau in an attempt to identify him. He confirmed that one hospital worker had been injured during the attack and the suspect faces charges of causing a disturbance at a state facility and physically injuring others.

One local said: “I can’t believe something like this happened in a hospital, is nowhere safe anymore? It’s terrifying.” Another added: “ Hospitals should be safe havens, and yet people acting like that make it impossible.”. Last year an Australian tourist caused chaos at a luxury housing development in Thailand’s “sin city” town of Pattaya. Andrew Nicholas Crosio, 38, rampaged naked in the upmarket estate, smashing cars and setting fire to his house.
