'My Christmas tree cling film hack saves hours when decorating and taking it down'

Many will be taking their trees down today as it's the twelfth night, and some consider it unlucky to leave them up past this date. According to Christmas Time UK, "the Epiphany falls on 6th January, which means the decorations should, in theory, be tidied away on the 5th". They did note that "not everybody follows this tradition," however, with "many countries, including Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic" believing the Twelfth Night is the 6th January.
Regardless of when you choose to take your tree down, it can feel like a long and arduous task. Putting decorations up is fun because you're looking ahead to the festivities, but once they're all done and dusted and the New Year's resolutions are getting underway, it can feel a little sad and underwhelming.
It can make even the most Grinch-esque people feel a little emotional as they remove their favourite baubles from the tree, only to be packed away until 12 whole months later. But when Katie Davidson, who posts on TikTok as @home_by_kt, shared her top tip for taking the tree down, she was left wondering "why we haven't done this before".
Over the top of the video, she described it as a "pro tip for taking your Christmas decorations down," as she kept it fully erect and decorated and just opted to wrap clingfilm all around it. Once it was clingfilmed and removed from the stand, they popped it in the loft as it was. Of course, for you to use this hack, you'd have to have a loft that was big enough to store it; and some social media users pointed out some other flaws they noticed with the hack, too.
