A florist has revealed the items Brits most dislike when it comes to decorating their Christmas tree. According to a new study from Bloom & Wild, people across the UK have some strong opinions on the best way to decorate a Christmas tree. The research reveals a definitive list of 'festive fir pas' when it comes to decorations, as well as a list of perfectly acceptable adornments.
Topping the list of what's tasteful is a classic angel at the top (30 per cent), followed by simple plain gold or silver baubles (29 per cent) and plain white fairy lights (26 per cent). But the list of no-nos includes a teddy bear sitting on top of the tree (44 per cent), tinsel of any colour (18 per cent), or flashing, multi-coloured lights (14 per cent).
One in ten (12 per cent) also think that mistletoe has had its day, along with sparkly lights (eight per cent) and homemade decorations (six per cent). A third (33 per cent) of people won't have a large Christmas tree this year, because they only have a small space (65 per cent) or putting it up is too much effort (24 per cent).
And 68 per cent would consider having a Tiny Tree. One in six (15 per cent) have an artificial tree that they bring out every year and one in twenty (five per cent) DON'T have a tree at all.
