Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is in a good condition after a successful operation on his prostate, his office says. The 75-year-old has had a series of health issues in recent years, the latest being an operation to remove a benign enlarged prostate after a urinary tract infection.

Mr Netanyahu's office said he is fully conscious after his surgery at Jerusalem's Hadassah Medical Center finished "successfully". Justice Minister Yariv Levin, a close ally, has been serving as acting prime minister while the leader is out of action. Earlier this year, Mr Netanyahu had surgery for a hernia and had a pacemaker fitted last year.
