Netflix adds series like 'craziest episode of Black Mirror' with 'Fallout vibe'

Netflix has just added a new series 'like Black Mirror' that is available to binge through right now. Cassandra is a German made limited show and the streaming platform has just made all six episodes available as part of its library. It is already drawing comparison to the hit show Black Mirror, created by Charlie Brooker, which is also available on the platform tells twisted tales inspired by science-fiction and horror elements.
This latest series seems to follow in a similar fashion as it is a blend of genres. In Cassandra, Germany's oldest smart home as stood empty ever since the original owners died under mysterious circumstances more than 50 years ago. A new family decides to move in, which includes Samira and as a result, Cassandra awakens from a decades-long slumber. She is a form of artificial intelligence which was developed back in the 1970s to take care of a family but was left out of service ever since they stopped living in the home. However, Cassandra senses a second chance to serve.
According to the show's synopsis she fancies herself as much more than a fairy godmother who keeps everything in order. Cassandra soon sees herself as an equal member of the family and does everything she can not to be left alone again – with all the means at her disposal. The series has quickly got Netflix viewers comparing it to other shows, films and even video games. One person responded online simply stating: "This is gonna be the craziest episode of Black Mirror ever.".
Another commented on how the premise of the show is perhaps closer to where we are as a society than first thought. They said: "Just saw an interesting series on Netflix. Cassandra. A family moves into a smart home under the control of a virtual assistant - who will 'stop at nothing to keep them there'. Not as far-fetched as it sounds.". Another suggested that the title's release confirms that there is a brand new genre being cemented and growing in popularity. They posted: "It's official. We have a new genre of suspense and horror. Robotic or cybernetic terror.".
While one person reflected on the production design behind the technology of the series and how it seems to be inspired by artistic movement futurism saying "Fallout vibe from Cassandra", comparing it to the beloved video game franchise and its Amazon Prime adaptation.
