Samsung might be about to release its new Galaxy S25 range of devices later this month, but one of its rivals has beaten it by launching a new phone today. Yes, it might only be the second day of the year but Chinese brand HONOR has just confirmed its new Magic7 Lite is arriving in stores from next week.

On paper, this latest Android call maker certainly looks impressive with it featuring a massive 6600mAh battery that could last three days on a single charge. There's also a huge 6.78-inch OLED display with speedy 120Hz refresh rate, a camera system with 108MP sensor and even a design that's made from titanium.

Those are all great features but the Magic7 Lite has another trick up its sleeve that could please anyone a little prone to accidents. HONOR reckons its latest call maker is made from tough stuff, which means it can survive being dropped on the floor thanks to its Anti-Drop Display technology. Unlike some phones which don't like extreme temperatures, the HONOR Magic7 Lite will also continue to work at freezing -30 degrees or boiling 55-degree heat.

It's even equipped with a three-layer waterproof structure, that provides 360 degree protection against water exposure - that's good news if you like scrolling through endless TikTok videos in the usual British weather. Other features include rapid 60W charging, a speedy processor and an ultra-slim look that makes it easier to pop in your pocket.
