David Moyes is aiming to ensure Everton move into their new stadium as a Premier League team after his return to the club was confirmed. The Toffees have officially announced that the Scot has replaced Sean Dyche at the Goodison Park helm - 12 years after he left to join Manchester United.
Moyes, 61, joins the Blues who have won just one of their last 11 Premier League games and sit 16th in the table, one point above the drop zone. But new owners, The Friedkin Group, have charged him with securing safety ahead of their move to Bramley Moore Dock after he signed a two-and-a-half year deal late on Friday night.
Moyes said: “It’s great to be back! I enjoyed 11 wonderful and successful years at Everton and didn’t hesitate when I was offered the opportunity to rejoin this great club. THE FA CUP GIANT KILLERS: Get your special edition magazine celebrating some of the game's greatest-ever upsets.

Everton have said further announcements will come on Moyes’ backroom staff but it is believed Billy McKinlay will join him at Goodison Park. Toffees executive chairman Marc Watts said: “We are pleased that David is joining us at this pivotal time in Everton’s history. With over a decade of experience at the club, he is the right leader to propel us through our final season at Goodison Park and into our new stadium. We look forward to working with David to build the foundation of a new era for Everton.”.
