New Wolves boss makes feelings clear on Ruben Amorim after slow Man Utd start

Vitor Pereira expects compatriot Ruben Amorim to find his feet at Manchester United despite a slow start. Wolves boss Pereira will go up against Amorim's United in his first match at Molineux on Boxing Day. The former Al-Shabab boss is aiming for a second win in as many games after kicking off with a 3-0 victory away to Leicester City on Sunday.
While Wolves were winning at the King Power Stadium, Amorim was having a tougher time of it. United were beaten by the same scoreline at home to Bournemouth, with their new head coach suffering a third defeat in six league matches. The Red Devils have also exited the Carabao Cup under Amorim, losing 4-3 to Tottenham in their quarter-final. However, Pereira - who managed Porto when Amorim was a player with their rivals Benfica - expects the 39-year-old to turn things around.
“We never played against each other because I am a lot older,” Pereira, 56, told reporters ahead of the upcoming meeting with Amorim. “I took a lot of time to arrive here (in England), because I made maybe bad steps in my career and missed opportunities to come sooner.
“Amorim is the new generation of Portuguese coach with a lot of talent and communication, tactical, strategical talent and I believe he will do a very good work in the Premier League,” the Wolves boss added. Amroim's six league games so far have brought just seven points, in stark contrast to the 11 wins from 11 games he recorded with previous club Sporting CP.
United and Wolves played out two contrasting matches last term, with the Manchester club winning both. Raphael Varane scored the only goal of the game when the teams met on the opening weekend of the season, while United needed a 97th-minute Kobbie Mainoo winner to take all three points at Molineux in February.
