New York Jets make 'substantial' offer to Detroit's Aaron Glenn to land him as their new head coach

The New York Jets have reportedly made a 'substantial offer' to land Aaron Glenn as the franchise's new head coach. The in-demand Lions defensive coordinator was in New Jersey on Tuesday for talks with the Jets after Detroit's shock elimination from the playoffs on Saturday night.
According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, Glenn landed back in Detroit on the private jet of Jets owner Woody Johnson. It's claimed the Jets and Glenn are yet to strike a deal but a huge offer was made and the job is Glenn's 'if he wants it'. Glenn's work in helping to transform the Lions under head coach Dan Campbell has made him one of the leading coaching candidates for teams this offseason.
He is also scheduled to interview with the New Orleans Saints later this week. The New York Jets have reportedly made a 'substantial offer' to land Aaron Glenn. Jets owner Woody Johnson has held an exhaustive search, interviewing 16 candidates already. Glenn is already believed to be lining up his coaching staff with Lions quarterbacks coach Mark Brunell an option as his offensive coordinator.

He was a first-round pick (12th overall) by the Jets in 1994. The three-time Pro Bowl defensive back played the first eight of his 15 NFL seasons with New York and later worked as a scout for the franchise from 2012-13.
