NICOLE Kidman broke down in tears over her parents' deaths after being presented with a prestigious award. The Australian actress, 57, was honoured with the Palm Springs International Film Awards' International Star Award, which was presented by Jamie Lee Curtis.

Speaking on stage inside the Palm Springs Convention Center, Nicole said: "I went home over Christmas. I’ve lost both my parents, and I’m in that place, like, ok, this is different now. "They’ve given me the resilience and they’ve given me the love and they’ve given me the strength to keep moving forward.".

Nicole left the Venice Film Festival in September after it was revealed that her mom, Janelle Ann, died at the age of 84. The A-list Hollywood actress appeared at the iconic festival for winning the Best Actress award for her role in Babygirl. Babygirl director Halina Reijin accepted Nicole's award and revealed to the audience why The Perfect Couple star, 57, made her sudden exit.
