It's a one-of-a-kind historical treasure, nestled in the heart of a beautiful seaside town and dating back to the 15th century. The grade II listed building is one of only two medieval buildings still standing within the town's historic old walls and has one of Edward I's biggest castles as a neighbour, as well as a picturesque quayside. It has been traced back to the winter of 1441-42. Over the centuries, the property has seen additions in the 16th and 18th centuries. However, its recent transformation might just be the most dramatic chapter in its lengthy history.
Conwy estate agent Dafydd Hardy characterised it as "fascinating and intriguing", a sentiment that's hard to dispute. They explain that from 2008 to 2015, the property underwent a thorough gutting and renovation, all carried out with full listed building and planning consent, and praised the current owner's "unswerving vision and an obvious love of historic buildings and their heritage".
What was essentially a shell has been transformed into a remarkable home in the heart of Conwy on the north Wales coast, with the agent also commendig the project for its "flair, glamour and presence", reports Wales Online. And this is particularly evident in the main bathroom, which has been getting most of the attention. Its showstopper is an extraordinary high-heeled shoe bathtub, further accentuated by a bold pink and dark plum colour scheme and a sink in the shape of a coffee mug.
One viewer, called Kevin, stirred the pot by linking to the listing and teasing: "Think of the most incredible thing you could find in this Welsh cottage. Then scroll to... find something that your wildest imagination could not even envisage. You WILL NOT be disappointed.".
