Daniel, who has released five albums to date, was a surprise contestant on Canada's Got Talent earlier this year when he appeared on stage to sing for judges Kardinal Offishall, Trish Stratus, Lilly Singh and Howie Mandel - who is known for judging on America's Got Talent alongside Simon Cowell.
Despite hailing from Vernon in Canada, the star realised he had never had the opportunity to perform the song on Canadian TV, so took to the talent show posing as a "aspiring singer-songwriter" before belting out his 20-year-old hit single.
And in recent months, Daniel has been propelled back into the spotlight as his hit song has been pushed back into the public consciousness as he took to a major talent show to reignite his fame.
Noughties pop star unrecognisable as he enjoys resurgence 20 years on from hit single Daniel Powter has drawn attention for showcasing his chiseled looks - reminding fans of his noughties hayday as he has been enjoying a resugance.
Watching a clip on the official Canada's Got Talent Instagram feed, one fan asked: "how could the judge didnt recognize daniel?"
