Nvidia's newest flagship graphics card, the RTX 5090, is about to hit the market today. Here's where you can get your hands on one. Nvidia announced its new 50-series lineup of graphics cards during CES 2025, with all four models in the lineup seeing big upgrades compared to their 40-series predecessors, particularly in AI performance. DLSS 4, the newest version of Nvidia's neural rendering technology DLSS, uses a new FPS-boosting feature called Multi Frame Generation, which Nvidia claims can increase FPS substantially in the most graphically demanding AAA titles. It used an example on its website of Cyberpunk 2077 running at 28 FPS with DLSS off and ray tracing on, but when DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation was enabled, the FPS shot up to 242 FPS. Wowzers.
The RTX 5090 is an absolute powerhouse of a GPU, featuring 3352 AI TOPS (87% more than was in the RTX 4090), as well as 5th gen tensor cores, 4th gen ray tracing cores and a whopping 32GB of GDDR7 memory. And, as you may expect, it's got a premium price tag too, with the RTX 5090 having an MSRP of £1,939 / $1999 / AU$4039. However, this MSRP only applies to the Founders Edition, which you can only buy directly from Nvidia, so expect third-party versions of the card from the likes of MSI and Asus to cost more, particularly if they are overclocked. And by more, we mean significantly more.
