A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: "Around 11.15am on Saturday (21 December) we were called to Welland Park in Market Harborough after a report that a 12-month old girl had fallen into some water.

A 56-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, while emergency services rushed a one-year-old boy to hospital - where they said he was fighting for his life after having suffered critical injuries.
Officers were called to the park at around 11.15am after the tot fell into the water, with a member of the public jumping in to rescue her before crews arrived.
