A passenger aboard a US domestic flight cracked the plane’s window after becoming enraged, it is alleged. Footage shows fellow passengers restraining the man, reportedly tying him up using bootlace and a zip-tie. Police officers were seen taking the man away in a wheelchair after the flight from Denver, Colorado, landed in Houston, Texas. The man tried to speak with a woman sitting in front of him but she did not respond, according to local media citing police sources.

Another woman on the plane, Victoria Clark, told broadcaster Houston ABC: ‘The lady in front of the gentlemen asked to move seats, and right when she did, he started kicking profusely and started punching the window. ‘He was scary.’. The man reportedly broke off the plexiglass covering and cracked the window itself, though the plane did not lose pressure.

Passengers, who included a military veteran, were forced to use makeshift methods to restrain the man. ‘Hearing the stewardess walk down the aisles screaming, “Does anybody have a belt? Does anybody have shoe string?”, was absolutely terrifying’, another witness told Good Morning America. Houston police confirmed they were called to reports of a ‘combative passenger on board’ but the airline, Frontier Airlines, has so far not pressed charges.

FBI investigators are looking into the incident, according to local broadcaster KHOU. Get in touch with our news team by emailing us at webnews@metro.co.uk.
