People are sharing the most unforgivable thing their parents did to them on Reddit in a heartbreaking thread on the social media platform. Reddit user @Deviant55' asked 'What is something your parents did that you will never forgive them for?' with nearly 10,000 replies including terrifying stories of abuse, neglect, and the mistreatment of animals.
Several Redditors opened up about how they had their beloved pets cruelly taken away from them, with one person writing: 'My mum sold my dog while I was at work. 'When I came home and was looking for them she told me that someone came to see him today and that they loved and took him. He went to a good home, but I never got to even say goodbye.'.
Another user urged parents to 'love your kids unconditionally' while recounting how her mother fat-shamed her growing up, including 'dragging me to and from doctors to find "what was wrong with me"' and grounding her for not losing weight quickly enough.
The woman admitted 'the anxiety, depression, and self-harm that rooted from this should've taken my life years ago' while underscoring the painful and lasting impact of her mother's words. One person criticised their parents for 'kicking me out the day after my 18th birthday because I turned 18' in their reply.
'And now constantly calling me a failure for not finishing college (had to drop out because I couldn’t afford that/rent/transportation anymore) and telling me to do better,' they continued.
