Peter Andre never adopted Katie Price's son Harvey for sad reason despite close bond

Peter Andre shared a close bond with ex-wife Katie Price's son Harvey, but he never adopted him, despite asking his biological father and still seeing him as his own. Speaking in a recent interview, he seemingly referred to Harvey, 22, as his sixth child, after the birth of his third baby with wife Emily. Chatting with host Kate Garraway on Good Morning Britain this week, he cut in when she said he was a dad-of-five. The 51-year-old has Junior and Princess with ex Katie, as well as Theo, Amelia and Arabella with Emily.
Kate said: "You've got a heck of a busy Christmas, now a father of five." He replied: "Technically six, but go on. I've changed a lot of nappies in my time. Carry on, carry on.". The Mysterious Girl singer, who was in a relationship with former glamour model Katie after meeting on I'm A Celeb in 2004, stayed in contact with his stepson for years after they split in 2009. But during their relationship, when he asked Harvey's biological father, ex footballer Dwight Yorke, if he could take Harvey on officially, he was knocked back in a shocking turn of events.
Despite Dwight admitting to not being a "perfect dad", and spending little time with his son, he didn't want Peter to adopt him, going so far as to say he wanted to "throttle" him. In his book, Born to Score, the Man United star said: "When I met Andre I wanted to throttle him. I'm not a violent man and it takes an awful lot to rile me. But this man got under my skin at the outset. No way would I ever, ever, allow Harvey to be adopted by him.".
