This Sunday, February 9, is National Pizza Day - and in celebration of this important day, PizzaExpress is giving away free pizza - but there's a catch. In order to get your hands on a free Margherita pizza, you have to be wearing black and white stripes. All you have to do is turn up to any PizzaExpress restaurant dressed in your favourite black and white striped top - a nod to the brand's famous monochrome aesthetic.
In honour of their 60th birthday, fans can take part in its Earn Your Stripes giveaway - which means you can get a Classic, vegan or gluten-free Margherita. There are 60 pizzas up for grabs at each restaurant in the UK, so pizza fans will need to be quick. PizzaExpress fans were amazed when they realised they learned about the deal on Instagram. In the post, PizzaExpress shared: "IT'S BACK AND BIGGER THAN EVER! This year we're bringing back Earn Your Stripes, which means we're giving away even more FREE pizza on National Pizza Day this Sunday 9th February!.
"Whether you're craving a Classic, vegan, or gluten-free Margherita, all you need to do is show up at any pizzeria dressed in your favourite black and white striped top in a nod to our famous monochrome aesthetic and the free pizza is all yours!. "P.S. There's 60 free Margherita's available per pizzeria, in celebration of our 60th birthday this year, so grab your mates and throw on your stripes cause once they're gone, they're gone!".
PizzaExpress fans can't wait for Sunday, when they'll be wearing their black and white tips to get pizza. "Looking forward to it!" said one person. "I have a top that's perfect for this! I call it my PizzaExpress top," shared another. Someone else wrote: "My partner doesn't have a striped shirt. But I have one so will that me a free Pizza?" "Defo be wearing my top," shared another. Paula MacKenzie, CEO at PizzaExpress, said: "2025 is our 60th birthday - marking 60 years since we brought authentic 'proper' pizza to the UK – and given National Pizza Day was such a moment last year, we knew we had to bring it back bigger and better than ever! So, come along, don your stripes, and join in the fun.".
