Police have launched a desperate search for a 90-year-old man who went missing from his Merseyside home. Merseyside Police said Trevor Roberts disappeared from his home in Southport this morning, adding he hasn't been seen since around 7.30am. The elderly man is understood to live in the PR8 area of the town, and has been described as white, of a slim and short build, and with short cropped grey hair.

The force said in a "missing from home" statement that he could be wearing a black coat, pair of joggers, a woolly hat and a pair of Wellington boots. He also usually walks with a stick. A representative added: "We are becoming increasingly concerned for Trevor's welfare, and are appealing for anyone who may have seen him to contact us on 999, so we can make sure he's safe and well.".

Local Sefton Police mirrored Merseyside Police's words in a statement of its own, saying: "Help us to find 90-year-old Trevor Roberts, who has been missing from his home in Southport. Trevor was last seen at 7.30am today and we are becoming increasingly concerned about his welfare.".

People who would prefer to contact the service on social media can do so by direct messaging its Twitter account @MerPolCC, or the "Merseyside Police Contact Centre" on Facebook. Any sightings of the 90-year-old man can also be reported via Merseyside Police's online form, which people can found here.
