Elderly murder suspect, 80, arrested after man found fatally injured at block of flats

An 80-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a pensioner died at a a block of flats. Thames Valley Police were called by paramedics at 4.20pm on Friday after the victim, a man aged in his seventies, was found with serious injuries at a block of flats in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.
The victim passed away at the scene. The 80-year-old man, who is from Aylesbury, has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody at this time. Senior investigating officer Detective Inspector Nick Hind, of the force's Major Crime Unit, said: “Firstly, I would like to wish my condolences to the family of the man who sadly died following this incident.
“We have launched a murder investigation and I recognise the concern this will cause in the local community. However, we have made an arrest and are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident and two parties are known to each other.
“Extensive enquiries are ongoing into this incident and a scene will remain on for some time while our investigation is ongoing, we would apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused. “We are confident that there is no wider risk to the community at this time, and I would urge anybody who has any concerns to please speak to any of our officers at the scene.
