Poppy Delevingne has revealed she is expecting a baby girl with billionaire partner Archie Keswick, after 'making peace' with the fact she may not become a mother. The model and actress, 38, announced she and Archie found out they were expecting when she was taking part in London Fashion Week. During a fitting for the Burberry show, she noticed her clothes were fitting tighter than usual.
She went on to take a pregnancy test, which confirmed her suspicions. After going for routine scans, she discovered she was pregnant with a baby girl. Her sisters Cara, 32, and Chloe, 39, were "elated" to find out they were set to be aunties to a girl, with the three of them meeting up in New York to celebrate Poppy's news. The siblings were thrilled to be welcoming their niece, with Poppy recalling how they spent the day together, with lots of chatting and "stroking" her growing bump.
Poppy admitted she thought her time to have a baby may have passed her by and in a bid to "protect" her unborn baby, Poppy and Archie didn't tell even friends and family until she was around four months. Poppy admitted she was "nervous" about her pregnancy.
The socialite told Elle UK: "It just feels like such an extraordinary privilege to be able to do this, to be able to have a baby at this age and at this time, and when it happened, I couldn't really believe it." Poppy said she had planned on not finding out the gender, but couldn't contain her excitement, adding: "Obviously, I would have been fine with either and when I was younger I always thought when I get pregnant, I wouldn't find out, but the second we got told we could find out, we did. I'm so excited. I come from all girls, we're very girl heavy. Girls are great.".
