Premier League out-of-contract XI as superstars reach crucial stage of talks

The January transfer window may have shut but a host of Premier League big names are still free to speak with clubs ahead of a potential summer move. Chief among them is Liverpool ’s big three of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah but Andoni Iraola’s high-flying Bournemouth are the only side without a player whose deal expires at the end of June. So just as you thought the transfer tittle tattle would die down, the speculation and conjecture is going nowhere.
Here is the best XI of impending free agents from the top flight – in a 4-3-3 formation. Martin DubravkaNewcastle ’s second choice goalkeeper could agree a new deal at St James’ Park but he has previously spoken of desire to be a number one and spent a portion of last season on loan at Manchester United. Trent Alexander-Arnold England right back is expected to join Real Madrid when contract at Anfield runs out but there is no agreement yet and he has been coy throughout.
Virgil van Dijk Liverpool captain said last month that there has been no update around contract talks but many feel he will agree terms. If not then he should be highly coveted. Victor Lindelof Out of favour and injury prone at Manchester United, the Sweden centre back is in need of a change of scenery to reboot a career that had promised so much. Ola Aina Talented full back, capable of featuring on the right and left side of defence, has been impressive at Nottingham Forest and talks have taken place around a new contract. There is confidence of an agreement being struck.
JorginhoArsenal midfielder could have left in January but is widely expected to join Brazilian club Flamengo, agreeing a three-year deal. Ilkay Gundogan Return to Manchester City has not worked out as planned with Germany star struggling physically at times. Kevin De Bruyne Arguably the best player of the Pep Guardiola era, the Belgian has spent a surprising amount of time on the bench this season and had injuries. But he should still command a big money deal and depart City as a club legend.
Mohamed Salah Saudi or stay? That is the big question for Liverpool’s difference maker. The situation is quite simple - he wants a longer deal - and it could be a case of who blinks first. Callum Wilson Newcastle striker has been left in the shadows by sublime Alexander Isak and struggled to remain fit for prolonged periods. Another who will have plenty of interest from clubs in the Premier League.
Adama Traore Marco Silva is eager for the winger to sign a new deal at Craven Cottage but his future remains undecided.
