Virgil van Dijk gives latest update on his uncertain Liverpool future

Virgil van Dijk has admitted that he still has ‘no idea’ how long he has left at Liverpool, as the future of three of the club’s superstars still hangs in the balance. It has been a stunning season so far for the Reds, sitting top of the Premier League and the Champions League group, with Arne Slot impressing in his first season in charge.
However, there has been considerable uncertainty and confusion off the field regarding the future of three of their biggest stars. Van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold are all out of contract at the end of the season and the trio could leave on free transfers in just a matter of months.
It is a remarkable situation and would surely be a huge blow for the Reds to see three of the Premier League’s star players all depart without a penny in transfer fees. There appears to have been little progress on achieving clarity, with Van Dijk still saying that he has ‘no idea’ what his future holds, although suggesting that a summer exit is very much a possibility.
On how many more Liverpool games he has ahead of him, the Dutch defender said: ‘I have no idea. How many left this season?. ‘Hopefully those are guaranteed and then I don’t know what the future will bring.’. Van Dijk’s appearance against Ipswich on Saturday was his 300th for the club since arriving from Southampton in 2018.
