Premier League title winner Christian Fuchs claims that he gets mistaken for Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds 'every day'. Fuchs, 38, retired from football in 2023 following a spell with MLS side Charlotte, where he's now an assistant coach to manager Dean Smith. The Austrian left-back was part of the famous Leicester City team which miraculously won the Premier League in 2016 under Claudio Ranieri.

Having enjoyed a distinguished career, representing his country 78 times and making nearly 100 appearances for German behemoths Schalke, Fuchs is a recognisable name in himself. But some fans apparently get him mixed up with Hollywood star Reynolds, who bought a majority stake in Wrexham nearly five years ago alongside fellow actor Rob McElhenney.

Speaking at the launch of Ladbrokes' 'Gaffer of all Accas' event, Fuchs explained: "I feel like there's this really big burden on me at the moment - I'm not talking once a month, but this happens once a day at least in the US - when I'm over there... every day I'm asked if I'm Ryan Reynolds!".

"Literally, every single day I get asked, 'Hey, are you Ryan Reynolds?' It doesn't help that he's recently moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, which is where I am! It could be worse, I suppose... definitely! But in terms of who should play me in a Leicester City movie, it's Ryan Reynolds... 100 per cent!".

Fuchs has a similar face shape and hairstyle to Reynolds, who occasionally sports a beard. The former Leicester defender has mostly lived in the United States since his move to Charlotte in 2021 and the nation is loving Wrexham's rise up the Football League.
