The acting U.S. attorney for Manhattan resigned from her job on Thursday after she was ordered to drop the corruption charges against New York City Mayor Eric Adams, according to a report.
Adams was slapped with a five-count indictment last year alleging he unlawfully accepted more than $100,000 in benefits from the Turkish government in exchange for helping expedite the Turkish consulate building in Manhattan.
Prosecutors also accused the mayor of accepting campaign donations through an illegal “straw donor” scheme and used a public matching fund program to increase the amount.
