According to the findings, searches for the word 'dogging' - engaging in or watching sexual activities in public places, usually involving strangers - had declined significantly over the last five years, down by 34 per cent.
However, the most dramatic decline was in searches for the term 'cottaging' - engaging in sexual activities in public restrooms or secluded outdoor areas - for which searches dropped by 70 per cent.
