Say bye bye to the grim nightmare of dirty mop water thanks to one woman's game-changing trick. If you're tackling particularly mucky floors, you'll notice how quickly your mop water turns grey and disgusting - and if you keep dunking your mop into it all you're doing is spreading that back onto the floor. The alternative to that is changing the water and adding in detergent to make it clean, but this is not only time consuming but costly too.
And with many Brits still feeling the squeeze of the cost of living crisis, it helps to think of alternative hacks that can save us both money and time. To help out, one woman has shared a 'mind-blowing' cleaning hack which ensures your floor comes out sparkly clean each time.
Samina Iltaf, who posts cleaning tips and reviews on her TikTok page @samina_iltaf to her 33.4k followers, shared a video where she showed off the savvy trick. The content creator showed a wide Vileda bucket, with a spin function for her mop, which gets rid of the excess water.
Normally, the dirty excess would drop straight down into the bucket, and you'd then have to dip your mop back into the now-mucky water. But instead, she placed a separate bucket with clean water into the wide bucket – essentially separating the dirty from the clean water.
A savvy cleaner has wowed the internet with her ingenious mopping technique that keeps dirty water separate from the clean. Chatting to The Mirror, she said: "Instead of mixing the mop into dirty water after every use I used a small bucket filled with warm clean water and floor cleaner.
