The pineapple, which has been part of Starr's lodgings and internet persona back in the early days of the web, has left some stumped while others speculate its connection to Pete Best, the initial drummer of the Liverpool quartet replaced by Starr.
An online post spotted said: "Thinking about when Ringo first started to use the internet and started sharing around this pineapple he took on tour with him named Pineapple Pete.".
At 84, it's unclear if The Beatles' drummer still counts on "Pete" for company during gigs, however, Beatlemaniacs couldn't contain their joy upon seeing snapshots of the peculiar sidekick.
