Rio Ferdinand reveals real reason Marcus Rashford wants to quit Man Utd

Rio Ferdinand has claimed Marcus Rashford wants to leave Manchester United because he has been "over-scrutinised for years" - with the forward desperate to seal an exit before the transfer deadline. Rashford's future is still unclear after his bombshell interview last year claiming he wanted to leave Old Trafford for a new challenge. The 27-year-old has found himself out of favour under Ruben Amorim and he has not featured for the first team since mid-December.
The England international has been linked with a loan move to Barcelona this month but an agreement is yet to materialise - and the forward will be keen to resolve his future to avoid spending the rest of the season on the sidelines. Rashford has only been named in one matchday squad since his comments on December 17, where he insisted he would leave the club with "no hard feelings", but former United star Ferdinand believes he has been driven to an exit due to increasing pressure.
He told the Daily Mail: "Manchester United, also people around Marcus, need to make sure that he leaves in the best tact mentally as well as physically. Mentally more importantly because I think he's been over-scrutinised for a few years now. "But that also comes in the territory of being a Manchester United player. And when you're held up as one of the faces of the club then that is part and parcel unfortunately of being at Man United.".
