Reflecting on her own roots in country music, she remarked: "Hi, they say you never forget where you came from and I will never forget standing here, right on this spot, almost exactly 15 years ago accepting the Grammy Award for best country album."
Despite leading the nominations with six nods-including Album of the Year for "The Tortured Poets Department" and Record of the Year for "Fortnight" featuring Post Malone, Taylor Swift left the ceremony empty-handed.
For some of the other Grammy categories, all of Gold Derby's experts and editors had unanimously agreed that Sabrina Carpenter's Espresso was destined to lift the Record of the Year award.
This year's Grammy Award for Album of the Year was won by Beyonce.
