The Night Agent is coming back to Netflix soon with a brand new story and some new faces as Peter Sutherland (played by Gabriel Basso) takes on a new mission. The action thriller is based on the novel of the same name by Matthew Quirk. Despite there only being one book as source material, the series proved to be so popular that Netflix decided to give it two more runs. After its premiere in March 2023, it became the third-most-viewed debuting series on Netflix in its first four days.
Within a week, it had already been renewed for its second season and within a month, it had become the streaming service's sixth-most-viewed series. Filming for season two took place in New York City, Thailand and Washington. The trailer for the new season shows Peter being chased by a gang as it is revealed someone gave up his secret hiding place. Peter had been investigating evidence of a leak at the CIA and had gone AWOL.
Here is all you need to know about the second season including the release date and new cast. The second season of The Night Agent will be released on Netflix on January 23. For fans in the US, Netflix releases new titles at 12am and for those watching in the UK, the series will be released at 8am.
The season is once again made up of 10 episodes, which will all be released on the streaming platform at the same time. The titles for each episode have not been released in advance. With the second season telling a new story in a new location, there are plenty of new faces joining the cast.
