TOTTENHAM midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur will not be allowed to return to training until he gets the green light from doctors. The 27-year-old collapsed on the pitch during Tottenham's Carabao Cup semi-final against Liverpool on Wednesday. Pedro Porro rushed to his aid before he received treatment from club doctors and paramedics.

Bentancur was subsequently taken off on a stretcher with oxygen and transported to a nearby hospital. After undergoing some medical examinations, he returned home on Wednesday night. The midfielder gave fans an update on social media, writing: "All good, guys! Thank you for the messages!!! Congratulations for the victory boys!!!".

Bentancur will now be set for a period on the sidelines while he recovers. According to the Daily Mail, he will not be allowed back to the club's training ground until he is given the medical green light.
