The news was confirmed by Woods in a statement to his followers on social media, just hours before the TGL clash between Boston Common and Los Angeles Golf Club at the SoFi Center, as both teams observed a moment of silence prior to Monday's match.
As mentioned by McIlroy, Kultida was in attendance at the SoFi Center a week earlier to watch her son's Jupiter Links team defeat McIlroy and Boston Common.
McIlroy was making his second appearance for the Boston franchise in the simulator league, but like the week prior, saw his team fall to defeat, this time at the hands of Tommy Fleetwood's Los Angeles side.
