Marcus Rashford handed reality check as Juventus want Man Utd team-mate instead

Juventus have turned down the chance to sign Marcus Rashford from Manchester United. And the Serie A giants are instead showing an interest in Old Trafford misfit Joshua Zirkzee, according to reports. Rashford, who earns £350,000 a week, said earlier this month that he is keen on a new challenge. He has also been left out of Ruben Amorim’s matchday squad for United’s past four games - including the Boxing Day defeat away to Wolves.
But finding a new club is likely to be tricky because of the England forward’s wage demands - meaning he must accept a pay cut to find a new home. The Italian top division’s top earner is Juve striker Dusan Vlahovic on around £210,000 a week. Barcelona are also reported to have already rejected the opportunity to sign Rashford.
On the other hand Old Lady head coach Thiago Motta is eager to bring Zirkzee back to Serie A having worked with the Netherlands striker at Bologna last season, as reported by The Sun. Zirkzee has struggled to adapt to English football since arriving in the summer and he has scored just three times.
But United are equally not ready to write off a £36.5m signing after only six months, with new head coach Ruben Amorim only in position six weeks and still searching for his best team. The former Sporting Lisbon boss was against asked at Wolves about Rashford’s continued absence from his squads.
