Ruben Amorim has offered a grave warning to his Manchester United players ahead of their Liverpool clash - admitting "I don't have a lot of patience". The United boss has had a tough time of it since his arrival in November. He's gone on to lose six of his first 11 games in charge.

The Red Devils sit a lowly 14th in the Premier League table and are languishing dangerously close to the relegation zone, with just seven points separating them and 18th-placed Ipswich Town in the drop zone. With Amorim's men on a three-game losing streak in the league, failing to find the back of the net in that time, the difficult fixtures continue to present themselves with a trip to tackle Liverpool today (January 5).

Speaking to Sky Sports earlier this week, Amorim explained it's the constant losing that's the toughest part of his new job, rather than the pressure of leading a global football institution like United. "The hardest part is to lose games," the Portuguese boss said.

"I'm not used to [losing]. You don't reach Manchester United by losing a lot and that is the hardest part. It's not the pressure from outside, it's the pressure inside. "I don't have a lot of patience, I get frustrated easily and that is the hardest part because I have to live with myself, not with the others." Losing is certainly something Amorim hasn't experienced much of during his managerial career, given he's averaged over 70% of wins in his four roles prior to his arrival at Old Trafford.

While many aren't expecting United to grab a result at Anfield, Amorim's words must heeded by his players as he's already shown through the removal of Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford from the Manchester derby matchday squad last month, he's not afraid to make tough calls.
