The father of murdered schoolgirl Sara Sharif has been moved to a prison dubbed Monster Mansion alongside other notorious killers, according to reports. Urfan Sharif has been moved to Category A Frankland prison which currently houses former Met Police officer Wayne Couzens and Serial killer Levi Bellfield, the Sun reports.

The move comes after Sharif was ambushed by two inmates armed with a jagged lid of a tin of tuna in a cell at HMP Belmarsh on New Year’s Day. The 43-year-old suffered cuts to his neck and face and received medical treatment inside the prison. It is understood Sharif did not need to be taken to hospital.

A source told The Sun that prisoners were locked away when Sharif was brought into HMP Frankland, in County Durham, this week “so no-one could get to him”. They said: “It was obvious something big was happening – and word soon got round about who he was.

“Child killers are the lowest of the low, even at a place like Frankland. “So Sharif is absolutely terrified and has been cowering in his cell, barely coming out.”. The source added that Sharif had been placed on the same wing as Bellfield, which also features other killers and hitmen.

Sharif and Sara’s stepmother, Beinash Batool, were jailed for life in December for years of horrific “torture” and “despicable” abuse that culminated in the 10-year-old’s murder. The court heard that she suffered “unimaginable pain, misery and anxiety” as she was repeatedly beaten, burned, bitten and restrained at the family home in Woking, Surrey.
