Scotland captain Sione Tuipulotu is a doubt for the Six Nations after being injured training with Glasgow Warriors. The centre suffered an upper body injury earlier this week, although he was going to be rested for yesterday’s Champions Cup tie with Harlequins in any case.

Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend now faces an anxious wait to see if he will be able to call on his talisman for the tournament opener against Italy on February 1. Scotland skipper Sione Tuipulotu is an injury doubt ahead of the Six Nations. Tuipulotu has been in sparkling form for club and country this season, scoring four tries, and is expected to be named in the British and Irish Lions squad to tour Australia next summer.

There was further cause for concern in the Scotland camp when lock Scott Cummings was withdrawn in the first 15 minutes of Glasgow's 24-7 defeat at Harlequins. He suffered an arm injury and Warriors boss Franco Smith said: '[Scott Cummings] will have to be assessed. Hopefully it's not too serious.
