Sean Dyche comes out fighting in response to claims Everton want Graham Potter

Sean Dyche claims he does not find it "weird" that Everton are looking at other managers. Dyche insists he has no problems with reports Everton’s new owners, The Friedkin Group, are considering Graham Potter because the Blues have slipped to just a point above the drop zone. It is understood previous owner Farhad Moshiri considered replacing Dyche with Potter earlier this season and the Blues boss claims it is right TFG should weigh up their options.
“To be clear, it should be,” said Dyche. “At the end of the day, if you’re a business of this size and this club, succession planning should be part of their diligence. I’ve got no problem with that at all and I think that should be on going at every football club.
“I'm not trying to be philosophical. I mean what I say. Odd questions get asked in the media about football and I think why is there a big drama about that because that's what you should be doing. “If you’re in any business of this size and this amount of money and turnover, that's an absolutely valid thing to be doing. Nothing makes me feel weird about that at all.
“If I owned it, I’d be saying to my chief executive, what happens if. Certainly the key positions including players, we look at who is out of contract, who’s in and out of form. It should be absolutely part of the process. “If you’re not doing that as an owner, I’d be thinking we need to be doing this. So why would it be any different with managers and staff members?”.
Dyche insists TFG have not questioned his future in any of his meetings with the Americans, who bought the club last month, and he understands they want to preserve their Premier League status as they head to their new Bramley Moore Dock home this summer. The Blues have won just one of their last 11 league games and Dyche admits this run is not good enough.
