The movie grossed over $492 (£389) million worldwide and was followed by three sequels – Shrek 2 in 2004, Shrek the Third in 2007 and Shrek Forever After in 2010 – as well as the spin-offs Puss in Boots and Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.
The upcoming movie will also be directed by Walt Dohrn, who served as a writer and artist on Shrek 2 and Shrek the Third, and as head of story on Shrek Forever After, where he also voiced Rumpelstiltskin.
The new trailer for the upcoming Shrek 5 movie has left fans concerned.
So we’re gonna do a Shrek, and we’re doing a Donkey [movie],’ he told Collider.
Shrek is coming out and Donkey’s gonna have his own movie.
