A paedophile sent a young girl sickening voice notes before stalking and stabbing her five times in the street. Ellis Dismore, 24, posed as a teenage boy online to groom teenage girls over a seven-year period. He hounded his victims for sexual selfies and threatened them with rape and abuse if they did not follow his orders. One harrowing voice note heard him tell a 15-year-old girl he would happily do jail time for stabbing her in the heart.

Dismore was later captured on CCTV and dashcam footage chasing the terrified girl down the street with a knife. He brutally stabbed her five times in the back as she screamed for help before a stranger swooped in and helped her into their car. The girl, who had never seen Dismore but recognised his voice, said the female driver saved her life.

On Wednesday, Dismore was jailed for 38 years for attempted murder and more than 20 other offences, including inciting eight other girls he met online to engage in sexual activity. Speaking outside court, Detective Sergeant Andrew Hamilton, of Cleveland Police, commended the bravery of the women and girls who came forward. He said Dismore made "vile threats towards them and sent sickening voice notes threatening to rape and stab them".

"Dismore's offending escalated when he attacked one 15-year-old girl in the street with a knife in a terrifying assault as she went home from school, leaving her with serious injuries," he said. "Had she not been saved by a courageous passer-by, she could have lost her life.".
