Rod Stewart was married twice before he found everlasting love with his wife Penny Lancaster. The rock legend turns 80 years old today and his birthday celebrations are being overseen by his other half, Loose Women star Penny, who previously revealed she was planning a series of special events that would last "several weeks". The Essex-based pair have been together for more than 20 years, with their love story inspiring some of Rod's biggest tracks.
While it took the megastar decades to find lasting romance and settle down, having had eight children with five different mothers, he instantly knew it was meant to be with Penny. Rod was first married to Alana Stewart from 1979 to 1984, and the couple share two children - daughter Kimberly, 43, and son Sean, 42. His second wife was model Rachel Hunter from 1990 to 2006, with whom he shares daughter Renee, 30, and son Liam, 28. He also shares daughter Ruby, 35, with ex Kelly Emberg, and Sarah, 59, with ex Susanna Boffey.
With Penny, who is 27 years his junior, Rod shares sons Alastair, 17, and Aiden, 11. It was in the late 1990s when Rod and Penny, 52, first crossed paths, when he hired the budding photographer to take photos of him while on tour. Their relationship got off to a slow and steady start, and in 2005, he popped the question at the top of the Eiffel Tower.
