SIR Rod Stewart has a surprise up his sleeve for his Glastonbury 2025 performance. Last month, the rocker was announced for the Festivals Legends slot next summer. Rod, who last performed on Worthy Farm around 22 years ago, alongside Coldplay and Stereophonics, is now said to be bringing one of his hobbies to the Somerset festival.
Musician and fellow model railway enthusiast Jools Holland revealed the Maggie May hitmaker has big plans to take one of his stations with him - and may even make a bespoke Glastonbury model. "He can’t bring the whole set because it’s enormous. But whenever he’s on tour, he’ll have a station building which he will take with him to a hotel,’ Jools told The Daily Mirror.
He added: "He could create his own little railway that goes around Glastonbury – a little ride-on thing that went up to the Healing Fields, around the jazz tent and back to the Pyramid Stage.". The Da Ya Think I’m Sexy? singer has worked on the 1,500sq ft layout for two decades.
In August, father-of-eight Rod told The Sun that he had not put it in his will for his family. Instead, he revealed he would love his local council in Essex to display his creation — with proceeds going to charity. He said: “I’ve never even thought about putting it in my will.
"It is an absolute masterpiece. "It really is. Even if I say it myself. “I would love to open it up to the public if Essex County will allow me and give the money to charity. "I’d love to do that.”. Rod follows such greats as Dolly Parton, Kylie Minogue, Lionel Richie, Cat Stevens, Shania Twain and Diana Ross in the coveted afternoon slot on the Pyramid Stage.
