Squid Game season two could be watched with an entirely new perspective if you missed this sneaky detail during your first watch. Netflix’s smash-hit South Korean drama returned on Boxing Day after an agonising three year wait and saw Seong Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae) attempt to infiltrate the sadistic tournament.

His plan seems to have ended in disaster, however, as all hope seemed lost for Gi-hun and several other rebels in their uprising at the end of the tension-filled season finale. The scheme was also doomed from the off, though, as viewers soon discovered the previous games’ Front Man, Hwang In-ho (Lee Byung-hun) was secretly taking part.

While many fans may have been convinced by his story and seemingly genuine reactions to succeeding in the trials, a crucial detail has revealed he intended to sabotage Gi-hun’s game from the off. His most obvious obstruction was in the six-legged pentathlon, where In-ho (calling himself Oh Young-il) tries and fails to spin a spinning top several times, giving the group just seconds to make it to the finish line.

This clue was spotted by a TikTok user who noticed that the Front Man was left-handed throughout the first season, including drinking whiskey and shooting his police officer brother Hwang Jun-ho (Wi Ha-joon) in the finale with his left hand. However, when it came to the pentathlon, In-ho uses his right hand to throw the spinner to no success.
