Steven Gerrard has shared another exciting family update with the news that his son Lio is taking part in his first football tournament - just weeks after his daughter announced she's pregnant. The former Liverpool skipper is known for keeping his social media followers in the loop with both his personal and professional endeavours. In his most recent post, Gerrard shared a snap from wife Alex's Instagram story, showing their son Lio en route to his first football tournament.

The image was captioned "off on his first footy tournament" alongside a football and plane emoji. Back in 2017, Gerrard announced the birth of Lio, stating: "Lio George Gerrard was born this morning at 4.55am . Both are doing great. Our family is complete.".

Last year, a video of Lio, 7, showcasing his football skills went viral online, hinting that he might follow in his father's footsteps. This isn't the only family news the Gerrards have shared recently. Earlier this month, Steven responded to his daughter Lilly-Ella's announcement that she's expecting her first child with boyfriend Lee Byrne, who is the son of a jailed gangster. The 20-year-old posted on Instagram: "Our little secret. The best news, mini us is on the way.".

Gerrard expressed his joy at the news, as he's set to become a grandad later this year when he turns 45. He wrote in the comments section: "We cant wait. Great news and congratulations. We love you.". Lilly-Ella has officially been in a relationship with boyfriend Lee since October 2022. He previously referred to her as “the best person he’s ever met”. Byrne is the son of notorious Dubliner Liam. The 44-year-old was arrested in Spain in 2023 and was jailed in October 2024 for five years for weapons charges.
