Tamworth 0-3 Tottenham: Spurs were made to work to secure a place in the FA Cup fourth round against their non-league opposition. Ange Postecoglou's expensively assembled squad were given a quick introduction into life in the fifth tier of English football before the game had even kicked off on Sunday.
With the game about to get underway, a whole was discovered in the netting of the home team's goal, requiring Tamworth players to hastily make repairs before the game could be kicked off. Once the game was finally underway, Andy Peaks' side were determined to be no pushovers.
Spurs had chances to open the scoring but were unable to take them, as the clash continued goalless beyond the half-time interval Tamworth only grew in confidence. In the closing seconds of stoppage time Tamworth came close on multiple occasions to securing a momentous victory, but the deadlock remained and the game improbably went to extra-time.
The difference in quality finally showed in the additional 30 minutes, with Spurs finally getting in front following a scrappy own-goal before a strike from Dejan Kulusevski ended any hopes of a Tamworth comeback. Spurs added a third in the closing stages through Brennan Johnson.
